Washington has the third largest #farmworker population in the country, and with that comes a large number of #migrantwomen who work in #agriculture. Women constitute an estimated 20-25% of the #farmworker labor force throughout the country and an estimated 80% of #female #farmworkers have experienced some form of #sexual #violence while working. In #Washington 75% of #Spanish-speaking #women #agriculture workers surveyed have experienced or witnessed some form of #sexaul #violence at work. Spanish-speaking women are less likely to #report their experiences due to fear of #punishment by #employers and #supervisors.

Employers have to set a ZERO-TOLERANCE for sexual harassment by delineating a zero-tolerance policy in both employee and supervisor training and communications within the farm and with the public, and enforcing said zero-tolerance policy by quickly investigating and disciplining perpetrators.
