We are deeply saddened by the sudden and unexpected passing of Senator Bill Ramos. Throughout his time in the legislature, first as a member of the House of Representatives, he was an unwavering partner and friend to the Commission on Hispanic Affairs’ staff and commissioners. He was proud of his Mexican heritage and firmly believed in the power and brilliance of Washington’s Latine community. Senator Ramos was known for showing up for his colleagues, friends, district, and broader community. We will miss him dearly and carry forward his legacy of showing up and working for good change. We hold his wife, Sarah, and his children in our hearts during this difficult time. Que descanse en paz y poder, amigo. -MAS
