NEW DEVELOPMENTS

Biweekly phone briefing: The JIC's next biweekly phone briefing will be held tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. Pacific. Representatives from the state Department of Enterprise Services, Department of Health, and Emergency Management Division will provide an overview of the state's process and logistics for sourcing, procuring and distributing personal protective equipment (PPE). Register on WebEx.

Governor's press conference: Gov. Jay Inslee will address media Thursday via streaming video and telephone to provide an update on the state's COVID-19 response. Details can be found in the Governor's Office media advisory.

New measures from Governor: Yesterday the Governor announced new measures to address impacts on public meetings and public records access; notary services; Liquor and Cannabis Board late payment waivers; and updates to Utilities and Transportation Commission Ratepayer Assistance.

Essential businesses: Today Washington state launched an online form where businesses can get clarification or submit a request for inclusion as essential under Gov. Jay Inslee’s Stay Home, Stay Healthy proclamation. Read the Department of Commerce's news release and visit https://coronavirus.wa.gov/business-workers for details.

Data on cases and test results: The Department of Health's database is experiencing a slowdown because of a 10-fold increase in the number of lab reports received. DOH has updated the website with its best estimate of today's case counts. The IT team is working to correct the database issue.

State agency updates:

·       Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction has curated resources for continuous learning during school closures. Resources are available for nearly all subjects and across all grade levels.

·       Department of Health published its daily blog post on Getting Your Questions Answered and has created a new Spanish-language Medium blog, BienestarWA.
