LGBTQ Certification Public Hearing on May 29, 2025.

OMWBE is expanding its rules to offer small business certification to LGBTQ+ individuals and is seeking your feedback and questions before the program launches on July 1, 2025

The Office of Minority and Women’s Business Enterprises (OMWBE) is preparing to make history by launching the state’s first certification program for LGBTQ-owned small businesses. In partnership with the Washington LGBTQ Commission, the program will launch on July 1st, 2025. This new offering will expand the benefits of OMWBE’s state certification program to include members of the LGBTQ+ community.

OMWBE is proposing a rule change and will gather comments via a public hearing. To learn more about LGBTQ Certification and provide feedback, register for the public hearing today.
