Community/Stakeholder Equity Assessment

Strategic Planning Listening Survey

The Washington State Department of Transportation, in coordination with the Washington State Office of Equity, is conducting an equity baseline assessment. This assessment will help WSDOT and the state identify actions and policy and procedure revisions that are needed to ensure our work bridges opportunity gaps and reduces disparities to create equitable and just outcomes for everyone in Washington.

The survey period ends on Friday, June 25, so you must act soon.

If you have questions regarding the survey, please contact the Office of Equity at equityinfo@wa.gov.

Any other questions, please contact Jackie Bayne, Office of Equal Opportunity Policy Manager, at 360.338.5783 or Jackie.Bayne@wsdot.wa.gov.

Important Opportunity for Construction Businesses

The Washington State Department of Transportation is implementing a new Small & Veteran’s Enforceable Goals program intended to increase Minority and Women’s Business Enterprise participation on construction projects.

In order to be considered, your business must be registered with Washington's Electronic Business Solution (WEBS) as one of the following:

  • Small Business Enterprise

  • Veteran Owned Business

OMWBE certification alone will not grant you access to this program. However, you can display your OMWBE certification badge in WEBS for greater visibility.

To register, visit the WEBS Portal and click 'Register Now' to get started.

If you have questions on the Small & Veteran’s Business Enforceable Goals Program, contact the WSDOT Office of Equal Opportunity at 360-705-7090

Minority-Owned Business and Women-Owned Business Enterprise Disparity Study

The Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) commissioned a Minority-Owned and Women-Owned Business to report to Congress on MBE/WBE activity related to FRA’s major grant and loan programs. To conduct the study, FRA contracted with Jack Faucett Associates (JFA), a nationally recognized and respected expert in public-sector economic and survey research, and the University of Chicago’s National Opinion Research Center (NORC), which is working with JFA to conduct the survey research.

In order to obtain relevant information needed for this project, JFA or NORC team members may contact you or other members of your organization to gather such information. The JFA team will use the information collected strictly for purposes of the study and will not disclose it to outside parties. If you are contacted, we strongly encourage you to participate in the survey and provide any requested information as soon as possible.

Thank you for your prompt cooperation with this important effort. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact FRA’s Civil Rights Director at 202-493-0669 or FRADisparityStudy@dot.gov.
